Roadsafe Roadshow

Our commitment to road safety and keeping future drivers safe

Since 2009 we’ve been helping young people in Ireland learn to respect the roads, leading the way for a safer future.

AXA Ireland has always had a strong commitment to road safety.

On our roads, far too many young people are being killed or ending up with life changing injuries as a result of road collisions.

Those under 25 are overrepresented in the statistics and as a key supporter of road safety, AXA wanted to do something about this.

That’s why we developed our AXA Roadsafe Roadshows, run in conjunction with An Garda Síochána, local authorities, emergency services, A&E Consultants and relatives of road collision victims.

Our educational roadshows deliver a hard-hitting, important message about road safety to Transition Year students across Ireland. We do this through a mix of video, moving first-hand accounts and theatre. Students are exposed to the very real consequences of dangerous driving and learn they must respect the roads and drive safely.

Hear the impact our Roadshows have on students

“The key takeaway was to slow down because there’s no point in driving fast. And if you’re in the car with your friends, tell them to slow down as well if you don’t feel comfortable. It’s not really worth putting your family and friends through all the grief.”

Student, Killarney Community College

"It warned me about the dangers of driving… I could immediately see the impact the stories had on everyone."

Student, Wesley College

"It’s not worth going fast just to be there 5 minutes earlier. It’s just not worth it"

Student, Killarney Community College

"It has taught me to be very cautious when I’m ready to drive."
